BRING LIFE TO DEATH THROUGH ART

HOLLY SKULLY

Throughout the years, the skull has been an iconic Mexican image. It is a reminiscence of the Pre-Hispanic world, closely linked to the TZOMPANTLI, a pre-Columbian altar where the skulls of sacrificed prisoners were placed to honor the gods.

Currently, as part of Mexican artisans' traditions, we can find sugar skulls, which are a reflection of the colorful and bright decorations used as offerings on the Day of the Dead to honor those who travel to this world to visit us.
